Butterflies

In school we leared about insects. You can't do that without hatching butterflies! We got a butterfly kit and then 3 caterpillars in the mail. We watched them for a day or two, then they went into their chrisalides.

When they were all in their chrisalides, we hooked them into our butterfly cage so they would hatch there. 

After they hatched, we watched them for  a few days and fed them fresh flowers with nectar. It was so fun to watch them. I admit, we were a little obsessed with our butterflies. Pretty soon it was time to let them go.

The girls were lucky enough to each get a turn to hold them before they flew away. Paysli's flew away too fast for a picture. The other girls stayed on them for a while. It was such a fun experience!
