She had just played in the mud and I got her undressed so I could wash her clothes. A few minutes later she came walking in with a pair of jama pants so I put them on her. It wasn't very long before she came back in, trying to hold up her toy-stuffed pants. 
She gave us a glimpse of all the goodies she was carrying around the house.
Today was Shaersti's first day of her 2nd year at preschool. She is going to a small performing arts preschool (thus the dance clothes). She has been excited to be at this school since we talked about it in the spring. She was really cute and excited to go today and already came home knowing fun things. I am going to miss her during the days. However, it was already nice for Anne to have some time alone with mom. What a fun time of life!
Grandma Sandra had open heart surgery last week. We went to see her with the kids and they had strict instructions to be good in the hospital. They all found magazines and sat down to read all by themselves. I thought it was pretty cute. Here's proof that my kids (and Riley) can be good when they want to- it was refreshing for me to see!
We borrowed Jodi's cool water slide for a YM activity but I thinkwe had a lot more fun with it at our own house. Becca and Riley came over tonight and they played and played on the slide. They had a riot! Anne is too scared to go down it but she loved to jump in the water on the bottom. Thanks for a fun day, Jodi!
Riley would get some great air- I was always surprised he didn't fly off the bottom.
This was a funny start to our Ott Reunion. My mom is such a city girl and she got worried about how outdoor"ish" the reunion might be when she we saw this little directional sign. After we drove past it once and my dad figured we'd gone too far, we backed up and finally saw it. We were very pleasantly surprised at just how nice the campgound was and all the work the family has put into it. We are excited to go back again.
This is the great building that they have put up on Grandpa Ott's property. They have named the campground "Camp Mary" after Grandma Ott and it has 3 full bathrooms with showers and flushing toilets and running, hot water. You can hardly call that camping!
Anne chased the poor dogs around all day.
We had an auction which was actually really awesome. They had some really great things of Grandma and Grandpa Ott's like this picture of when they first got married and a saddle pack that grandpa used for 90 years. Grandpa told stories as they auctioned items and I think they made plenty of money to sponsor the reunion next year (an aphgan sold for $500).
Grandpa Scott's two kids didn't quite get the concept of bidding and they were bidding him up for a camo banana chair that Riley wanted. He got it for $42.50 after grandpa held them both down with his hands over their mouths so they would quit bidding.
The kids played and played in the dirt and we hardly saw them except at a distance. They had a lot of fun. It was altogether a very successful reunion and I loved talking with people I don't get to see very often. Grandpa Ott has a great property! The only thing that could have made it better was if my husband could have come (and brought a 4-wheeler!).
Kolby turned 17 today, on 08-08-08. Anne gave him a bag of Oreo's then turned around, found herself a nice litte seat, and ate a handful of them. Actually, she licked the filling out and threw the cookies on the ground.
We love Uncle Kolby-thanks for being such a great uncle!
We went to the lake today for Kolby's birthday and you can see that we had a lot of fun. I blogged a lot of pictures so I hope it's not tiring to look at all of them- I think they are way funny. This was the boys attempting to all stand up at once.
Josh took Shaersti and I took Anne on a nice little ride. Anne just sat and ate her Cheetoh, she was pretty oblivious that we were doing something really fun.
This is Shaersti on her own tube for the first time. After the tube ran her over once, she was a little hesitant to get back on but she did awesome and we even hit a few waves.

They actually all got up once and my camera snapped just a split-second too late. It obviously didn't last very long.
This is Josh wakeboarding. You better appreciate this picture because he couldn't get up again. He would put so much pressure on the rope trying to get up that he would sling-shot the rope into the boat and he just about killed each one of us. We started ducking (including the driver) when he said "hit it". My elbow has a nice bruise and still hurts like a mug! Josh, if you're reading this...you did a great job!

This is me on the wakeboard and I got the best air I've ever gotten (about 4 inches).
I thought this picture was hilarious. There was obviously something way more interesting for Ben and Shaersti to be looking at than the enormous air Scott is getting in the background.
Of course grandma paid the extra money so the kids could see the stinky animals. They were happy.
I can't say that Anne has ever been so close to a cow before!
They got brushes so they could comb the goat. Sounds really thrilling...right?
Then of course we got to ride 2 little rides where you go around in a circle just until you want to puke and they call it a blast and charge you $20. Actually...the kids thought the rides were the best thing in the world and that $20 was far cheaper than Disneyland! They had a lot of fun and even Riley (yes, Riley) put his hand up!
