Christmas

Christmas Morning- It looks like Santa came.
Our big present this year is a trip to Disneyland. We are leaving on January 5th. The kids weren't quite as excited as I hoped, but they were a little more excited yesterday when everything else had worn off a little bit.

This is our huge Crab Crack- one of the best things we do all year!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is probably my favorite day of the year, thanks to my dad. We had a delicious dinner, acted out the nativity, opened some presents, and did the annual strip-down race to get our new pajamas on.
My mom bought all the little girls these skirts. They are so pretty!
Now it's time to be impressed... I actually made our pajama pants this year. Okay, I got a lot of help from my mom. But I still made them! Paysli's were MC Hammer pants but that's alright.

St. George Flooding

The Virgin River is usually just a little lazy river that runs through town. A few days before Christmas it went crazy. It was wiping out all kinds of stuff (luckily no houses) and it was truly amazing to watch. It turned into crazy rapids. I stood on a bike path with my kids and the rapids were lapping at the edge of the cement. As long as it didn't hurt anyone, it was really fun.

Bake Night

This is our annual bake night, one of my favorite traditions ever. We get together and bake a whole bunch of different, delicious stuff. Then we take them around and carol to about 6 houses. It is so much fun! So much thanks to my mom who somehow pulls the whole thing together. It gets a little crazy (especially around the stove).

My Baby Turns 6!!!

I can't believe how fast the time flies- and I can hardly believe I have a six year old.
She chose to take a few friends to Fiesta Fun. They played on the toys, they loved the arcades, they ate pizza, opened presents, and even got to ride the cars.
Shaersti was pretty determined to invite a few friends from school. It was really odd to call oms I didn't know and ask if their kids could come to Fiesta Fun with us. Then I was nervous about what kids she would choose. I was really happy when the kids that came were fabulous kids. It was so much fun to watch them play together.
Shaersti is 6 going on 13. She is so smart and understands things that amaze me. She helps around the house so much and is an amazing big sister. She makes friends easily and loves to play with them. She is in kindergarten and loves every minute of it and her teacher loves her. She is a self-proclaimed tomboy and won't have anything to do with "girl" stuff. She loves playing outside more than anything, but she also loves dogs and watching movies. She is growing up so fast and we love her so much.

Murder Mystery Dinner

Scott and I hosted a murder mystery dinner at the beginning of the month. It wase a riot! We got a few people out of their comfort zones and we laughed all night. My kids got sick the night before so Jason graciously had it at his new, huge house. It turned out wonderful. Thanks Jason and Amelia! We had 15 people there and I really wish I would have taken more pictures because the costumes were awesome. I do have some great videos for blackmailing, though! It was such a fun way to get to know people.Jeff was a great sport and got murdered in the middle of the game. He had a super outgoing character (that he played so well) and then he suddenly couldn't talk for the rest of the night.
Here are a few of the fun costumes.

Thanksgiving Program

I remember being in these little programs, and certainly watching my brothers in them... but my own kid? It's amazing how fast life just carries on. It was so fun to watch Shaersti perform.

A Special Visitor

In November we had Linda come stay with us for 8 days. Linda is my cousin who lives with Grandma Sandra. Grandma went to Hawaii for a week and we got to take Linda. It's always a little scary to have someone come into your home for that long but it turned out to be a pleasure. My girls loved having her here so much. She slept in Shaersti's room and the girls were excited to see her every morning. They would sit on the table and talk to her the whole time she ate and they loved when she read books to them. They were sad the day she went home (and we think she was a little bit, too). Thanks for sharing your week with us, Linda!
