Finishing my 2016 Blog Book

I am still at the 2017 Fuller Girls Retreat. I have finished and printed my 2015 blog and now I have completely done my 2016 blog. I have hardly moved from this computer for 2 days. I have missed all the games and been incredibly anti-social. However, I am so happy to say that I will have 2 years of blogs sent to the printer this weekend. That's so awesome. Here's to staying caught up better!

December- Grab Bag

A wonderful tradition from Scott's family. Who wouldn't want presents brought around in a wheelbarrow? So Fun!

December- Grandpa's Cancer Surgery

Finding out your dad has cancer is not exactly fun. I'm grateful that he let me be a part of the doctor appointments and surgeries. This is saying goodbye as he is taken back for his surgery to remove the cancer, form a J-pouch and create an iliostamy bag to allow the new J-pouch to heal.

He looks pretty good here, although the recovery was pretty rough.

If only we had known that he would end up in another surgery to fix a failed J-pouch, we would have really appreciated this belly and this recovery.
The great news is that the cancer was completely removed!!!

December- Christmas

Oh, the magic of Christmas morning!

Christmas was on Sunday this year. The kids chose to come up and see their Santa present, go to church, then finish opening their presents later. We had an amazing day!

December- Grandpa's Birthday

Somehow we have this amazing tradition that we all get spoiled for grandpa's birthday. This year was no exception!

December- A Hernia & Kidney Stones

This is Scott passing (or at least trying to pass) a kidney stone. Not fun!

This is Scott having surgery for said kidney stone. Actually, he was already scheduled for an umbilical hernia repair, so they threw in removing the kidney stone. He must have passed it that morning because they never did find it and he has been fine since.

December- Grandpa's Late Night

One of the best nights of the year. My kids look forward to this all year long. Another amazing tradition from my parents! They plan great things and tend all the grandkids while the parents all get a night off. Amazing!

December- Happy Birthday Shaersti

My little baby girl is 12- that means Young Womens. Crazy! Where is the time going?

Shaersti is such a good girl. I see so much of myself in her- for good or bad. She is so responsible, kind, helpful and fun.

Happy birthday to Shaersti! The weekend before her birthday we drove to Provo and got her new bunny, Mya. 

This is still Nala's cute litter. We ended up losing all but one.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I have never taken food into my own bed. I have no idea how this happened!

November- Momma Trip (with dad)

Yay! Scott is getting on a plane to join us!!! I was so brave and drove the motorhome through the Phoenix airport to find Scott. It was a little crazy- but so worth it!

We went to the Out of Africa Wildlife Park. It was super crazy. I felt like all the animals were going to eat us... right there. They were in terrible cages and I was nervous the whole time.

They have a tiger show where they actually try to get the tigers to chase them into the pool. Luckily no one died!

After our scary animal encounters, we went to Montezuma Castle... and did another Junior Ranger program.

We stayed one more night in Rancho Sedona before we headed home. We stopped in Price near Lake Powell and found an RV park with a pool. We pulled in pretty late and went swimming before we crashed. The next morning Scott woke up really early and started driving us home. 

Taking my kids on this trip was one of my favorite things I have ever done in so many ways. I can hardly wait to do it again.
