Triathlon

Once again, Scott tried to push the limits of his body to see what he could do. He did the St. George triathlon last weekend. The girls and I went to watch him and it was a lot of fun. The swimming was really cool to me. He told me that he had to approve my wet suit posts but it's my blog, so that's too bad. Besides, he's pretty cute in a wet suit.
This is a piece of the crowd watching and you can see some swimmers starting by the pier.
It was so fun to watch the swimmers start, although I think I would be freaked out and worried I would get run over if I was one of them. This was one heat out of about 8 that did this race.
After the 1 mile swim, Scott biked just over 20 miles (on his mountain bike because he's a true man!!!) This is him finishing the bike portion.
Then he ran 6.2 miles. Here he is leaving for his run.
And here he is finishing at last. Shaersti and Anne jumped under the rope and ran a very little ways with him. Although he didn't finish as fast as he would have liked, he did something he has never tried before and he finished it. He said it kicked his butt, although he hardly even got sore. I love having a husband that tries things and isn't afraid to enter a triathlon with old crappy shoes, a mountain bike, and no spandex (he was one of the very few with loose-fitting clothes). I love you Scott!

Salt Lake Vacation

Two weeks ago we took a family vacation to Salt Lake for the high school soccer finals. Jason drew all over all our van windows and we were quite the little traveling van fans. Unfortunately we lost our first game to Juan Diego and didn't get to play in the Real stadium but we sure had a great soccer year and Ben came out uninjured. While we were in Salt Lake we went to the zoo, Joe's Crab Shack, an aquarium (although Scott and I missed it because we stayed behind with two puking kids... not the best way to spend a vacation), Fashion Place mall, Toys R' Us, the Mayan, and some other great places to eat. It turned into quite a vacation- thanks to mom and dad!

Becca is such a great tender and the little kids just love her. She gets way more snuggles out of Paysli than I have ever gotten.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day my little family brought me breakfast in bed. It was Shaersti's idea and she was so excited about it that she woke up pretty early to do it. She made me a bowl of cereal and Eggo's with strawberries she cut with a butter knife. It was super cute. Scott hand made me a paper flower bouquet that was the sweetest thing. My dad took his moms, wife, and daughters (with all their husbands by default) out for sushi on Saturday night. My dad is such a regular customer there that the owner and master sushi chef really caters to him. They made him this amazing boat full of sushi. I think the boat is supposed to just be a decoration. All-in-all it was a pretty great Mother's Day.

Addie

Josh and Michelle went on a cruise for a week and my mo got to tend Addison. My kids were sick so we didn't see much of her but of course we went to the soccer game. I love this picture because it shows how cute she is, and she was holding onto this otter pop for dear life.

Fishing

My cute husband spent a few weeks obsessed with taking the girls fishing. We have some local golf course ponds that have been pretty stocked with fish and the girls love to go try and catch them with their dad. Shaersti is actually pretty good at casting and reeling in by herself.
