August- First Chicken Egg

One of our chickens finally gave us our first egg. Shaersti, who totally takes care of them and checks for eggs every day, was ecstatic.
This picture means a lot ore to me than that. She ran up holding the egg and Scott wasn't home. She asked me to take a picture to send to him (thus the picture). I was dying over the picture because she was so goofy, her hair wasn't done, she was dressed terrible, etc. She took one look at the picture and said, "I look awesome". God gave me that experience to remind me that children have an amazing self esteem and it's my job as their mother to nurture it, as the world will tell them differently. I have come to love this picture as it symbolized a great lesson to me.
