Dinner & Play

Shaersti and I had a girl's night out with grandma and Becca over the weekend. We went to an awesome dinner at Benja's and then to a High School Musical play. It was a lot of fun!

Cuter than Crap!

I haven't been able to get my silly husband to take family pictures so we did them without him and gave them to him for Father's Day. We're not much of a family without him but they turned out pretty cute, anyway. A huge thanks to Grandma Jill for sweating in the sun and taking a million pictures of us to get about 20 cute ones. I really appreciate it- you must love us!!!

Happy Birthday Scott and Josh!

Scott shares a birthday with my brother, Josh- June 10th. We had a great pool party at grandpa's and it was a ton of fun. Thanks to everyone who came and especially to mom and dad for doing all the food!
What a cute grandpa, huh?

Kung Fu Panda

My mom and I took our 4 little kids to Kung Fu Panda. I thought the previews looked dumb so I only went for my kids but I ended up really liking it. It's a pretty cute movie. Once again...grandma put Shaersti's name into a drawing and she won 3 months of karate and a karate uniform, which we gave to our "Little Brother" Josh. He loves it. Thanks, grandma!

Our "Little Brother"

One of my friends did a post mentioning her "little sister" and it made me think about Josh. This is our "Little Brother" with the BBBS program. We got hooked up with him in the fall 2 1/2 years ago. He comes to church with us every Sunday that we are in town (his mom is not LDS) and we take him every Monday night for an activity, too. He has come on a lot of family vacations with us and we have had the chance to be a big part of his life- and him ours. He is 10 and him and Shaersti are great friends. My girls love spending time with him. We have had our challenges, but all-in-all we really like the time we get to spend with Josh. This was our most recent activity at the splash pad. Although it shut off after 15 minutes of being there, they still had a blast.

A Final Goodbye to our Birds

As Scott snapped this last picture of our 4 cute little birds, one of them got scared and flew away. He flew great! The next morning, one of them was on the ground. We noticed that he had a club foot and he can't fly. We didn't want to leave him on the ground to get eaten so we attempted to put him back in the nest. As we did, all three of them jumped out. He glided back to the ground while his siblings flew away. He has hung around our yard for about a week and his mom and his siblings come back to be with him and help him. It has been awesome to watch, but he still can't fly. Just today he managed to get up onto our wall and glided down into the neighbor's yard- it's a vacant house so it's a good place to be for now. We hope he learns to fly and we've sure loved having ur birds around, we will miss them. Our girls have grown quite attached and loved them more than anything and they have been great entertainment for quite a few weeks. If you can see her, this is their ever-faithful mommy on one of her favorite perches while they were in their nest.

Anneliese Mess

At Jimmy and Shauna's house the other night, we were enjoying a great dinner on the back porch. When there was a lull in our conversation, which isn't often, we looked up to see both of our 1 year olds emptying out Shauna's flower pots. Luckily, she didn't have any flowers in them! They got it in their hair and all over the porch. It gave us a nice little clean-up project. I sure hope Anne is over this mess-making phase soon!
