Our Last Fling

With a baby coming soon, we wanted to take one more trip with our girls. We decided to go to Camp Mary, my dad's family's property just outside of Bryce Canyon. I got us ready and I hauled my fat butt up there to sleep in a tent for the weekend. Despite the Saturday rain, we had a lot of fun. Kolby and Ben came with us and brought a friend. Dave and Jodi came with their 3 kids (Shaersti and Cami love to play together) and we even had the pleasure of spending the whole weekend with Mac and Karen. Jason and Amelia also came up for two nights and our kids sure had fun roasting marshmallows in their fire. We really lucked out when Gary Davis let us sleep in his trailer after the first night. It was so nice to not worry about the cold and to get my pregnant belly in a real bed.

Gary also let us mess around on his 4-wheeler a little.

If I look tired- I am. It's pretty sad when a 3 mile hike kicks my trash!

Shaersti and Cami love to play together and they had a blast all weekend.

Kolby and Ben obviously didn't want to be in the picture but they were being good sports. Ben got a concussion in soccer a few weeks ago that is still not better.I found out later that he knocked his head on this tree while he was trying to hide. He spent the rest of the hike with a terrible headache.

Who needs some fish?

With grandpa's pool right next door, my girls are turning into fish. Shaersti is such a good little swimmmer and there's nowhere she'd rather be. She doesn't need a life jacket and she runs around with all the bigger kids and loves to jump and do front flips off the diving board. On the other hand, Anneliese is scary! She can't swim at all and its a lot of work to follow her around on the step to make sure she doesn't fall off it.

What's with goggles, anyway?

One of the best things about grandpa's pool is that we get to eat in it.

Shaersti's Busy Month

It has been an exciting few weeks for Shaersti as she has finished her year of dance and preschool. We were moving the day of her dance concert and I couldn't think beyond just getting her there. Her cute new Aunt Michelle (Josh's wife) brought her flowers and Shaersti loved them. She felt so special to have Matt, Shellie, Josh, and Michelle come watch her dance. It was a pretty cute little prgram.
Shaersti just finished her 2nd (but not last) year of preschool. She went to a small neighborhood preschool called Shining Star. They had a little graduation program this week so we could see some of the things she learned this year.
They made little harmonicas and played them at graduation. It was my favorite part.

Work, Work, and more Work

For those who don't know- we are moving. We are renting a house just one circle over from my parent's. In exchange for a lowered rent, we agreed to paint the house before we move in. It has been quite the job and we have gotten a lot of help, especially from my parents. My dad has come over a few times into the late night to help pull up carpet and mask off cupboards. My mom has been the biggest help of all, tending my kids every day for the past two weeks so I could work on the house. Although we have a really busy week ahead of us, we will be done painting by Saturday night. All our flooring goes in next week, and then we can move in. Although we are downsizing by a few bedrooms and then some, I am actually pretty excited to move. It's a big blessing in my life that I thrive off change! The house will be really cute when it's done, our rent will be at a great price, and the house is right on an amazing park and close to my parents. I couldn't ask for more during these crappy economic times. We have an offer on our house right now and we hope it goes through, but we are going to get settled before our new baby comes regardless of whether our current home sales or not. It has brought me a lot of peace of mind, which is worth its weight in gold!

This is some of the wallpaper coming off. What cute little helper girls!

And even more wallpaper coming off. This is Kolby going where no man has been before.

Is this how the professional painters look after a day of spraying? Doubt It! My husband is a good sport. Now we know what his hair will look like in about 5 more years!!!

Easter

This is Easter morning and we're on our way to Grandpa Scott's for his awesome Easter egg hunt, which was held in the family room this year thanks to the rain.
Shaersti was so excited for the Easter bunny to come. She usually takes a minute to wake up, but not on Easter. She jumped right out of bed and started running through the house looking for her basket before she even noticed Scott and I watching her.

Preschool Field Trip

Shaersti's school had a really fun field trip last week. We went to the St. George airport and rode in the huge fire truck and met a few police with thir motorcycles. Shaersti's favorite part was when the fire truck driver turned on the sirens and sprayed water. All the kids giggled. Even Anne got to join in the fun.

Lunch Hour with Dad

We met Scott on his lunch hour last week to go bowling. Our girls loved every second of it. Thank heaven for bumper lanes!
